Lincoln School is located at 506 Chestnut St. in the eastern part of Anaconda fondly referred to as “Goosetown.” The Lincoln Lions have an enrollment of 251 pupils. Lincoln has been a school since 1890 in Anaconda. In 2006, Lincoln was named one of three Montana Schools to be named a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. This is due to Lincoln’s high test scores and percentage of Free/Reduced Lunch. This is a tremendous honor that is given to 300 schools nationwide.
Lincoln School serves grades three through five for all of Anaconda/Deer Lodge County. Thirteen teachers serve these grades. Lincoln also has a full time counselor, full time music teacher, full time librarian and a half time Health Enhancement teacher, two resource specialists, one Title I teacher, and four paraprofessionals. Lincoln has an engineer, custodial aide, two cooks, and three breakfast/lunch supervisors. Rounding out the staff is the secretary and the principal. A school psychologist and school nurse serve Lincoln along with the other three Anaconda schools.
Lincoln School has a spacious gym that is 10 years old and a stage for programs. A computer lab is located in Room 23.
